Inspiring the Our Future Healthcare Providers

The Student Healthcare Institute is an independent summer program for middle and high school students, dedicated to inspiring the next generation through guest lectures, discussions of relevant healthcare topics, and hands-on clinical experiences. Now in its second year, the program gives students an honest look into healthcare through real stories and diverse perspectives. By hearing directly from providers, students learn that there’s no single way to help patients heal, and that empathy, curiosity, and open-mindedness are key to becoming compassionate leaders in medicine.

Guest Speaker Sessions

Dates: July 6–10, 2026

• Format: Online via Zoom

• Time: 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM (your choice)

• Length: Up to 45 minutes, with 5 minutes of Q&A

• Audience: Middle school (grades 6–8), high school (grades 9–12), or both—your choice

Session Format

We’re looking for speakers who bring passion, purpose, and a willingness to be real. We want to hear your stories, challenges, and wins.

You can choose whichever format feels best:

• A structured talk with slides

• Or a conversation with one of our TAs leading the discussion

Either way, your unique voice will add depth and variety to the program.

What to Share

We love hearing about the moments that shaped you. You might talk about:

• What your day-to-day work is actually like

• How you found your purpose in life and as a healthcare provider

• Your education background

• Patient stories or case studies that stand out

• The best and hardest parts of your job

• How you personally approach healing and healthcare

• What you think makes a great provider

• Something you wish you had known sooner

• Your advice for students thinking about a career in your field
