Summer Opportunities for College Students
Are you a college student passionate about healthcare and education? The Student Healthcare Institute is looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join us for our Summer 2026 programs. This is a unique chance to strengthen your leadership, teaching, and clinical skills while inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking motivated, passionate, and curious individuals who are:
Currently enrolled in college (must have completed at least one year by Summer 2026).
Interested in healthcare, medicine, or education.
Excited to teach clinical skills such as vitals, cranial nerve exams, suturing, and more.
Comfortable interviewing healthcare professionals and helping facilitate guest speaker sessions.
Willing to work independently, think quickly, and bring positive energy to the team.
Committed to supporting a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Training & Time Commitment
Applications open January 1, 2026. They will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Application deadline is April 3, 2026.
Virtual interviews will be held within 2 weeks of receiving your application.
Virtual Training (May 2026): Up to 1 hour per week, covering teaching strategies, clinical skills, and program prep. Schedule dependent on TAs availability.
In-Person Training (June 2026, San Jose, CA): About 2 hours per week, focused on hands-on practice and workshop readiness. Schedule dependent on TAs availability.
Summer Program (July–August 2026): TAs will choose what cohort they would like to TA for. 1-2 hours during online lectures and workshops, 4 hours per day M-F during selected workshop week.

Responsibilities
Assist in teaching and demonstrating clinical skills to students.
Help lead small-group activities and mentor students during lectures and workshops.
Interview guest speakers (MDs, RNs, PTs, etc.) and facilitate student Q&A.
Support program logistics such as setting up workshops and guiding students through activities.
Model professionalism, teamwork, and enthusiasm for healthcare careers.
Compensation
TAs will receive a stipend for their participation. A strong letter of recommendation will also be provided upon request.
