Hello! I am Dr. Megan Ng, a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for education and medicine. With a foundation in both allopathic and holistic healthcare, I aim to bridge the gap between these disciplines to create a more comprehensive approach to patient care.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology with High Honors and a minor in Music from UC Davis. As a pre-med student, I volunteered as a Clinical Research Assistant at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento and assisted in both the Surgery Department and Burn Unit at UC Davis Medical Center. On campus, I joined a student-run clinic that provided basic healthcare services to Asian communities in Sacramento, where I delivered presentations on preventative medicine. I also played cello in the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra, performing major works such as Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and various contemporary classical compositions.
During my summers as an undergraduate, I was a Team Advisor at the National Student Leadership Conference in Washington, DC, teaching healthcare and leadership to high school students. I also participated in a few medical service trips to Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, where I provided basic health services and medical education to rural communities.
While preparing for the MCAT, I began to question whether becoming a medical doctor was the right path for me. I knew I loved helping people, especially through teaching anatomy and physiology and mentoring students, but something felt off. Wanting to explore other healthcare fields, I visited a chiropractor and immediately knew I had to pursue this career. Unlike the often sterile and stressful environment of hospitals, the chiropractor’s office was vibrant. Although patients were dealing with pain and illness, there was a strong sense of vitality, and the doctor’s energy and enthusiasm were unlike anything I had seen in a typical hospital setting. He encouraged me to consider chiropractic as a way to help people achieve true health.
I received my Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as Valedictorian. During my time in graduate school, I tutored Biochemistry 1 and 2, as well as Chiropractic Boards, helping students master complex subjects in a short amount of time. As a student, I studied a specialized chiropractic technique that relied heavily on my anatomy knowledge and another technique that addressed how stress can create pain.
After graduating, I worked in Los Gatos, seeing patients of all ages and health concerns—from simple back and shoulder injuries to complicated cases like addiction, long COVID, and fibromyalgia. Although I love interacting with patients, treating them, and watching their physical and mental health improve, I decided to follow my passion for teaching anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and healthcare.
Through my experiences in both research and clinical practice, I recognized the importance of integrating different medical philosophies, and came to appreciate the strengths of both allopathic and holistic medicine. I remain dedicated to educating future healthcare professionals and fostering a more compassionate, patient-centered approach to medicine. I aim to introduce students to many medical philosophies, and demonstrate the pros and cons of each while showing how they can work together to create a healthier world. My mission is to empower future doctors to embrace a well-rounded, empathetic approach to patient care and shape the future of medicine.
In my free time, I enjoy creating cute greeting cards using my paper cutter, as well as reading, meditating, and weight training. I'm currently working toward my next goal: launching a nonprofit that will provide basic healthcare services and chiropractic care to underserved populations in San Jose, CA.
